A perfect day in Antibes always begins and ends at La Jabotte. But to make your stay as authentic as possible, from your last cup of coffee and breakfast in the garden, there’s nothing like living like a local in Antibes by wandering the secret streets of the old town.

From morning to night, here are our tips for spending a day like a local:

A morning stroll on the ramparts 3.0

Put on your sneakers and walk from the hotel along the Mediterranean Sea to arrive a few minutes later on the ramparts that embrace the city. This year, the promenade, a favorite of tourists and locals alike, has been given a facelift and is now adorned with a belvedere that offers a breathtaking view of the Cap d’Antibes, the old town and the Alps.

New vegetation completes this idyllic picture which offers the leisure to see the seaside city waking up in the early morning with the soft sound of the waves and the smell of roasted coffee which rises from the addresses near the Provencal market.

Stroll through the alleys and do some shopping

Continue on your way to stroll through the secret alleys that are home to many nuggets for shopping or tasting a local specialty.

Around the Provençal market, from rue Sade to rue Aubernon via rue du petit Four or James Close, boutiques and food shops flood the streets and offer an authentic and charming experience.

Take a lunch break on the beach at La Gravette

It’s impossible to put down a flip-flop in the Azure without biting into a Pan Bagnat. Like a local, enjoy it in all simplicity on the Gravette beach, this stretch of fine sand in the heart of the city. Surrounded by medieval walls, nestled a few meters from the quays of Port Vauban, this small beach with a postcard look, is THE ideal spot for a swim between noon and two.

Get educated in one of the city’s museums

Local or not, if you stay in Antibes, a visit to a museum is a must. In the old town, on the ramparts, the Picasso museum is a must.

On the Rue Lacan side, near the Rue de la République, the Peynet museum will delight lovers of cartoons.

A few steps away from the Ponteil beach, the archaeology museum shelters many historical treasures in the heart of its bastion built by Vauban himself.

Toasting on the side of the Provençal market

5pm, 6pm or later, it doesn’t matter, in the South, the aperitif is sacred.

On the Cours Masséna side, along Rue Aubernon and the Arcades side, the bistros are opening their terraces, so all you have to do is settle down to sip the drink of your choice. Of course, we advise you to drink a fresh rosé from Provence (in moderation).

Vibrate to the sounds of the piano or the harp

To close your spring day in Antibes, take advantage of the lovely month of May to rock to the sounds of melody with the annual event Classic’ Antibes, a must for music lovers.

From May 6 to June 4, a series of concerts mixing discoveries and great classical repertoire.

Finally, after these intense peregrinations in Antibes, you will undoubtedly dream of a sweet and well-deserved night. At La Jabotte, your cozy cocoon awaits you, all you have to do is slip under the sheets.

We’ll see you tomorrow morning for breakfast.
