Chronicle #44: A gentle winter on the French Riviera in Antibes
Antibes lit up at night, its reflections on the sea creating a calm and luminous end-of-year atmosphere.
There are holidays we know by heart.
Cold weather, lights, and crowds.
And then there are those we discover differently.
The sea is always there.
Even in the evening, even at night.
It captures the lights and turns them into soft reflections.
You walk through the old town of Antibes without rushing.
The streets are alive, but never overwhelming.
You move, you breathe.
Decorations are present, but discreet.
Just enough to remind you of the season.
Never taking over.
And then there is this unexpected softness.
Dinner outside, a light jacket, air that doesn’t bite.
Winter, but differently.
On the Cap d’Antibes, everything slows down even more.
Night falls gently, the sea remains present, almost silent.
A soothing contrast to what holidays usually feel like.
You stop trying to do too much.
You simply choose what feels right.
A moment, a light, a presence.
Maybe holidays here find their true meaning again.
Less in what you do.
More in what you feel.

About La Jabotte
La Jabotte is a small boutique hotel hidden just 60 meters from the sea.
A secret garden, a peaceful atmosphere, and a slower rhythm — a place where evenings feel softer, quieter, and a little outside of time.
