The Jabotte Journeys #13: Antibes in winter, sea, light and quiet streets
View over Antibes and its ramparts facing the sea, with snow-capped mountains in the background under soft winter light.
There is a season when Antibes feels different.
Calmer, slower, almost confidential.
As if the town finally lets you take your time.
Start in the old town of Antibes, without a plan.
Follow the streets, the colors, the details.
In winter, you don’t cross the town… you linger.
Soon enough, you reach the ramparts.
The sea suddenly opens up, wider, quieter.
The light reflects softly and slows you down.
Continue toward the port.
Boats sit still, and the Quai des Milliardaires feels almost surreal in this calm.
A place usually impressive… becomes peaceful.
As you walk further, let yourself be drawn toward Fort Carré.
You don’t go there to tick a box, but to experience it differently.
The place changes when the crowds are gone.
Everything becomes simpler here.
You walk without purpose, stop often, notice more.
Winter removes the unnecessary.
This is not a grand excursion.
It is a sequence of moments:
light, silence, unexpected views.
And then, almost without planning it, you end with a hot chocolate.
Sitting in the sun, by the sea or tucked into a quiet street.
It just feels right.
Maybe winter is the best time to discover Antibes.
When it no longer tries to impress.
And simply becomes… yours.

About La Jabotte
La Jabotte is a small family-run hotel in Antibes, hidden just 60 metres from the sea.
A secret garden, a peaceful atmosphere, and a slower rhythm — softer, quieter, and slightly outside of time.
