Chronicle #10 : Antibes Old Town, a wanderer's guide (no map needed)
Antibes’ Old Town isn’t something you visit.
It’s something you breathe in.
You discover it one street at a time, at the pace of your steps and the breeze, without a plan and without a destination.
Colourful shutters, flowered balconies, ancient doors.
Sleepy cats in the shade.
Cool corners scented with jasmine, warm stone, and sometimes fresh coffee.
One turn leads to a lively square.
Another to a quiet alley, ending with a glimpse of the sea.
There’s no need to hunt for landmarks here.
They find you, quietly, just around the corner.
The real joy is getting lost.
Wandering.
Stopping for a coffee where you hadn’t planned to.
The Provençal market, the Picasso museum, small local shops —
everything is within walking distance.
And everything deserves your time.
At La Jabotte, our advice is always the same:
head out without a plan, walk slowly, and let the streets choose you.
And if you come across a fountain, an old lady watering her plants, or the smell of fresh bread…
don’t move.
You’ve just found the heart of Antibes.
