Chronicle #43: December in Cap d'Antibes, between sea and silence
The rocks of Cap d’Antibes meet the winter sea under a shifting, luminous sky.
In December, the Cap d’Antibes changes again.
Less soft than November, perhaps more raw.
But also more real.
The sea is no longer still.
It moves, breathes, makes itself heard.
Not violently, but enough to remind you it is alive.
The wind sometimes joins in.
It moves through the pines, along the rocks, then disappears just as quickly.
Leaving behind an even deeper silence.
You walk differently here in winter.
Maybe not as long.
But more intensely.
Colors shift as well.
Blue becomes deeper, green darker, light more contrasted.
Everything feels sharper.
On the Cap d’Antibes, there is no real scenery anymore.
Just nature, the sea, and you.
And that is more than enough.
You stop trying to stay busy.
You look, you listen, you pause.
And time takes on a different meaning.
It becomes a presence rather than a walk.
A moment where you feel more than you do.
Where every detail matters.
Maybe December reveals the Cap in its truest form.
Without filters, without expectations.
Simply essential.

About La Jabotte
La Jabotte is a small boutique hotel hidden just 60 meters from the sea.
A secret garden, a peaceful atmosphere, and a slower rhythm — a place where evenings feel softer, quieter, and a little outside of time.
