Hoist the telescope and embark on the 26th edition of the Voiles d´Antibes which will take place this year from September 15 to 19, 2021! A real spectacle at sea not to be missed where, for 5 days, the most beautiful yachts will ply the bay of Antibes and Juan les Pins. At La Jabotte, we have our favorite spots to be able to observe these exceptional regattas, and it is a pleasure to share them with you!

Les Voiles d’Antibes: the back-to-school meeting at sea!

Since 1996, legendary sailboats have crisscrossed the 23 km of coastline in the bays of Antibes and Juan les Pins for 5 days of festivities and competitions.

As every year, 3 types of yachts will launch out on the undulating Mediterranean:

  • Vintage yachts, built of wood or metal and launched before 1949.
  • Classic yachts built before 1975
  • “Spirit of tradition” yachts built from 1970 using modern materials but a style faithful to tradition.

Among them, a legendary boat, Ikra, entered in the America’s Cup in 1964 and which won numerous trophies, including the Rolex Trophy at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.

When and where to see the Voiles d’Antibes’s regattas?

4 rounds will be contested at sea, exceptionally this year, from September 16 to 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To have a front-row seat when the ships set off for the first place in their category, here are our favorite spots to attend Les Voiles d’Antibes.

– At Port Vauban

No need for a long view! Here, on the quay, it will suffice to stroll, to observe these well swayed boats and their crews getting ready before the races!

– At the Saint-Jaume bastion

A few meters from the billionaires’ quay, lined with fortified remains, the esplanade which houses the monumental sculpture the nomad is an ideal spot to see the mainsails racing!

– 1 min from La Jabotte

Propel yourself out of your cozy bed at La Jabotte, eat a hearty breakfast, and head to Tribord! A few meters away, you will find the sea and you will have a front row seat, your toes in the sand, to greet the fleet of vessels competing during the sails of Antibes!

– The coves of Cap’Antibes

While waiting for the procession of yachts, do you want to take a dip in turquoise water and a paradisiacal landscape? Sail along the Cap d’Antibes and anchor in one of the small coves, some of which have a view of the jagged silhouette of old Antibes.

Not to be missed at Voiles d’Antibes

– The village of Voiles d’Antibes:

Installed on 2 new spots to ogle the legendary yachts, the quay of war escapees at Port Vauban and the esplanade of the fishermen’s meadow for the festive and catering area. Every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., a friendly atmosphere with events on the theme of the sea and the environment, surprises, concerts and cocktails.

Public access and completely free

– Artistic exhibitions on the theme of water sports

As well as days dedicated to associations for the protection of the sea.

–           Concerts :

At aperitif time and at nightfall, every evening there is live music in the village of Voiles d’Antibes with in particular Blah Blah, a legendary rock band from Antibes.

The sea makes everyone huangry! After your day at Les Voiles d´Antibes, tackle the old Antibes and cast off at one of our favorite restaurants here.
