Chronicle #15 : Little holiday habits
The smallest gestures that create the best memories
There are habits you never plan for.
They arrive quietly, without announcement.
On holiday, they are often the simplest ones.
The same coffee every morning.
Always in the same spot.
Same cup, roughly the same time, the same light.
You stop checking the clock.
You stop rushing.
You repeat yesterday, and it feels just right.
There is the towel you hang in the same place every day.
The book you leave a little further into the garden.
The sandals you slip off without thinking.
Small gestures.
And yet.
At La Jabotte, we see these habits appear day after day.
Guests do not notice at first.
Then one morning, they smile, realising they do exactly the same thing every day.
And that they like it.
These little habits serve no purpose.
They optimise nothing.
They appear in no schedule.
They are simply a sign that you have slowed down.
That you have found your rhythm.
That the holiday has truly begun.
You could change.
Go elsewhere.
Do things differently.
But you do not.
Because repetition becomes comforting.
It anchors the days.
It quietly creates memories.
At the end of the stay, you may not remember everything you did.
But you remember these small rituals.
And once back home,
you often try to keep them a little longer.
At La Jabotte, this is often how holidays leave a trace.
In what you repeat, without even thinking about it.

About La Jabotte
La Jabotte is a small boutique hotel hidden just 60 meters from the sea.
A secret garden, a peaceful atmosphere, and a slower rhythm — a place where evenings feel softer, quieter, and a little outside of time.
