Chronicle #8: Antibes beaches ranked from chic to chill (as judged by Tya)
Antibes beaches through Tya’s eyes
Tya, our official fur-clad beach critic and four-legged muse, has tested Antibes’ finest beaches for you.
Sand, pebbles, umbrellas, quiet corners: everything has been carefully evaluated, always with a water bowl nearby.
La Salis Beach — our favourite, just 60 metres from La Jabotte.
Family-friendly, golden sand, clear water and soft morning light.
Here you simply roll out of bed, slip into flip-flops and the robe provided, and sixty metres later your feet are already in the sand.
Tya: "Perfect for post-swim naps."
Ponteil Beach — wide, peaceful, perfect for sunbathing, and right next to the sailing club.
Think paddleboarding, e-foil sessions, sailing lessons and, on some mornings, the impressive sight of rescue dogs training in the water.
A gentle blend of activity and calm for those who enjoy watching the sea come to life without necessarily joining in.
Tya: “I watch the rescue dogs work. Very impressive, but I leave the serious missions to the specialists.”
La Gravette Beach — tucked behind the ramparts, right below the Picasso Museum.
A sheltered half-moon with calm mornings and beautifully protected waters.
Tya: "Excellent for discreet yacht supervision."
Les Ondes Beach — on the Cap d’Antibes, serene and romantic.
Perfect after a walk to admire the sunset and watch the colourful pointus of Port de l’Olivette drift gently on the water.
Tya: "A daydreaming kind of spot."
La Garoupe Beach — iconic.
Turquoise water, postcard scenery and starting point of the famous coastal trail.
Tya: "Best before or after adventure. I love the scents along the path."
Cap d’Antibes coves — wild, dramatic but tricky terrain.
Tya: "Humans love them. I slide too much."
Private beaches — sunbeds, cocktails, polished service.
Tya: "Nice stainless-steel bowls but homemade sandwiches win."
Jabotte tip: go early for calm or late for sunset.
Bring a beach picnic prepared by us, your towel, a good book and keep your phone deep in your bag.
Every beach in Antibes has its own personality.
But they all share one thing: they simply feel good, even the paws approve.
