Chronicle #2: Antibes: the art of welcoming on holiday, La Jabotte style

Chronicle #2: Antibes: the art of welcoming on holiday, La Jabotte style

You thought a hotel welcome was all about a front desk, a bell, and a fixed smile?

Wrong.
Here at La Jabotte, just a few steps from the sea in Antibes, hospitality is practiced at the level of whiskers and wagging tails.

First there's Yin.

She spots you from the roof, one paw on the gutter, watching with a detached but vigilant gaze.
She doesn’t come down right away. She judges. For a long time. With that cat look that seems to know more about humans than humans themselves.
She lets herself be photographed. A lot. (We counted – she’s already appeared in a hundred Instagrams.)
Then, when she deems you worthy, she goes back to sleep in the gutter — her way of giving his blessing.

Then, there's Tya.

Her tail already wagging before you even step through the door. She doesn’t judge.
She adopts you instantly, howls with joy if you dare say “hello” before she does, and she’ll escort you to breakfast, to the beach, to your deckchair… and straight to your heart.

And finally… there's us.

Behind Chucky and Tya, we step back to let you enjoy the moment.
A welcome like no other — and that, truly, is our greatest luxury.

So next time a cat on a roof watches you arrive and a dog greets you like an old friend, take a deep breath: you’ve reached La Jabotte, that hidden corner of paradise where even the welcome has a heart.
